Euro 2024: Ronaldo and Pepe Break Records as Portugal Takes on Czech Republic
Cristiano Ronaldo (39) and Pepe (41) will make history as they start for Portugal in their match against the Czech Republic at the Euro 2024 tournament. Ronaldo is appearing in his 6th Euros, breaking the record, while Pepe becomes the oldest player to feature in the competition at 41 years and 113 days.
Joining the veteran duo in the Portuguese lineup are several Premier League stars, including Bernardo Silva and Rúben Dias from Manchester City, as well as Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot from Manchester United.
On the Czech Republic side, Tomáš Souček of West Ham will captain the team, with Vladimír Coufal also starting for the Czech Republic.
“This is a historic moment for Portuguese football. Ronaldo and Pepe have been pillars of our national team for years, and it’s incredible to see them continue to perform at the highest level,” said a Portuguese team spokesperson.
The match is set to kick off at 8pm and promises to be an exciting encounter between these two European powerhouses.
