Brighton Reignite Interest in Leicester’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for Summer Transfer

Brighton retain an interest in Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and are contemplating a fresh bid, according to talkSPORT.

The Seagulls attempted to sign the £30 million-rated Dewsbury-Hall in January but were unable to agree a deal with the Foxes. However, they could be set to reignite their interest in the summer transfer window with a new offer ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Dewsbury-Hall’s Journey at Leicester

Dewsbury-Hall joined Leicester’s academy at the age of eight and worked his way into the first-team, making his debut in 2020. The midfielder has 129 appearances across all competitions for the club and proved pivotal in their Championship title success, scoring 12 goals and assisting another 14 to help seal their instant return to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old was named in the Championship Team of the Season and voted as Leicester’s Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Season.

With his current deal not expiring until 2027, the Foxes should be able to bank a large fee if he is sold.

Interest from Other Clubs

It has also been reported that Tottenham Hotspur are another club tracking Dewsbury-Hall’s progress. If he stays at Leicester, he will play under new head coach Steve Cooper next season, who was appointed as a replacement for Enzo Maresca, who joined Chelsea.

Brighton’s Managerial Changes and Transfer Plans

A move to Brighton would see Dewsbury-Hall work under new head coach Fabian Hurzeler, who recently completed a switch from St Pauli. The Seagulls are also keen to keep both Deniz Undav and Pascal Gross at the club, despite interest from Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund, respectively.

In other news, Brighton have bid farewell to Adam Lallana earlier this month as he rejoined Southampton on a one-year deal. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Osman is set to become the Seagulls’ first arrival, with a reported £16 million deal agreed to bring the FC Nordsjaelland midfielder to the Amex Stadium.
