Football News: Enzo Maresca to Face Former Club Manchester City in Premier League Debut as Chelsea Head Coach

In a highly anticipated matchup, Enzo Maresca will host his former club Manchester City in his first Premier League game as Chelsea’s new head coach. Maresca, who had two previous spells as a coach under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, will welcome his former employers to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 18, with the match set to be aired live on Sky Sports at 4:30 pm.

Upcoming Fixtures for Chelsea

The 44-year-old Italian manager, who was recently plucked from Leicester City after guiding them back to the Premier League, will also return to the King Power Stadium when Chelsea visit on Saturday, November 23.

Chelsea’s 2024/25 Premier League fixture list promises a challenging period in October and November, as they are set to face Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester United, and Arsenal in successive matches. The Blues’ first meeting with Tottenham is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, and they will host Fulham on Boxing Day.

The season is set to conclude with a daunting May, as Chelsea take on Liverpool, Newcastle, and Manchester United before traveling to Nottingham Forest on the final day on Sunday, May 25.

Additional Competitions

In addition to the Premier League, Chelsea will also compete in the 2024/25 UEFA Conference League, with the qualifying play-off first leg on August 22 and the second leg on August 29. The group stage will kick off on October 3, with the final set to take place on May 28 in Wroclaw, Poland.
