In the world of football, several top clubs are vying for the signature of Lille striker Jonathan David. Manchester United, Tottenham, and Arsenal are among the Premier League giants who have been offered the chance to bring the Canada international to England.
Intermediaries working on behalf of the 24-year-old are keen to secure a move to the Premier League for the talented forward. It is understood that David would cost just £30 million as he enters the final year of his contract with the French side.
The 2023/24 season was a productive one for David, as he found the back of the net 26 times in all competitions, with 19 of those goals coming in Ligue 1. His performances helped Lille secure a fourth-place finish in the league.
Since joining Lille in 2020, David has been a prolific scorer, netting 84 goals in 183 matches. He played a crucial role in Lille’s Ligue 1 title triumph in his debut season, scoring 13 league goals.
On the international stage, David has been equally impressive for Canada, with the striker just three goals away from equalling teammate Cyle Larin’s record of 29 strikes.
The Premier League’s top clubs are looking to bolster their attacking options this summer, and David could be an attractive option. Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham are all exploring options to provide competition for the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Kai Havertz, and Richarlison, respectively.
The Red Devils and the Gunners were dealt a blow when Slovenia starlet Benjamin Sesko opted to sign a new deal with RB Leipzig, but they are now considering alternatives such as Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, as well as Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.
Tottenham, on the other hand, have been offered the chance to bring former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham back to the Premier League, with the Roma man available for around £26 million following an injury-hit campaign in Italy.
