Football News Update: Fleetwood Town Bolsters Midfield with Cheltenham’s Elliot Bonds

Fleetwood Town, the EFL League One club, have announced the signing of Cheltenham Town midfielder Elliot Bonds on a three-year deal. The 24-year-old Guyana international joins the Cod Army after a successful three-year stint with the Robins, where he made 111 appearances and scored 5 goals.

Bonds began his professional career at Dagenham and Redbridge before moving to Hull City in 2019, though he never made a league appearance for the Tigers. The midfielder has also had loan spells at Farnborough and Kidderminster during his career.

“This signing marks the second summer arrival for Fleetwood Town, as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming EFL League One season.”

Manager Charlie Adam will be hoping Bonds can add depth and creativity to the Fleetwood midfield as they look to challenge for a spot in the coveted League One playoffs.

Fleetwood Town fans will be eagerly anticipating the upcoming EFL Cup and FA Cup fixtures, as well as the start of the new Premier League, EFL Championship, and EFL League One campaigns. With the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 UEFA European Championship also on the horizon, the world of football is set for an exciting year ahead.
