Ipswich Town’s long-awaited return to the Premier League has been met with a tough opening fixture list, as the Tractor Boys face back-to-back clashes against Liverpool and defending champions Manchester City.
Ipswich’s Tough Start
After finishing second in the Championship last season, Ipswich secured their promotion to the top flight, ending a 22-year absence. However, their first two fixtures of the 2024/25 campaign will be a stern test of their abilities.
The newly-promoted side will kick off their Premier League return with a home match against Liverpool on August 17, which will also mark the debut of the Reds’ new manager, Arne Slot. This will be followed by a daunting trip to the Etihad Stadium to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City a week later on August 24.

Ipswich’s Recent Success

After the challenging opening fixtures, Ipswich will host Fulham on August 31, before facing Brighton and Southampton in their next two games. The club will be hoping to pick up valuable points early on as they look to secure their Premier League status for the long term.
