The 22-year-old, who has been a revelation for the defending champions, will be sidelined due to a one-match suspension.
Calafiori, who has been a vital part of Italy’s backline, picked up two yellow cards during the group stage, meaning he will have to sit out the crucial Switzerland clash. The Bologna defender was booked early in the second half of Italy’s 2-1 win over Albania and was then cautioned in stoppage time of the 1-1 draw against Croatia, as he stopped a late counter-attack.
