Football News Update: Lincoln Defender Lewis Montsma Signs Short-Term Contract Extension
In a significant move for Lincoln Football Club, defender Lewis Montsma has signed a new short-term contract, extending his stay with the team for the next six months. Montsma, who has been a vital part of the Imps’ backline, has made an impressive 83 appearances since joining the club in the summer of 2020, scoring 11 goals.
The 26-year-old Dutch defender faced a setback last season, missing the entire campaign due to a second anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Despite this challenge, Montsma has shown resilience, making just eight appearances in the current 2022-23 campaign. With his previous contract set to expire this summer, the club has now stepped in to secure his services for the foreseeable future.
“The support of the club has been brilliant, and it works both ways – they know what I can do and how hard I work, and they’ve put a lot of trust in me.”
