Liverpool Eyeing Historic Quadruple After Carabao Cup Final Qualification

Liverpool, the current favorites to win the Europa League, have booked their place in the record 14th Carabaro Cup final after overcoming Fulham. Jurgen Klopp’s side will face Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday, February 25, in a repeat of the 2022 final.

Domestic Treble Ambitions Remain Intact

The Reds’ domestic Treble ambitions remain intact, with the Premier League title race heating up. Liverpool currently lead champions Manchester City by five points, though the Citizens have a game in hand. If Klopp’s men can secure the Premier League, Carabao Cup, and Europa League titles, they will become only the second English team to achieve a historic Quadruple, after Manchester City in 2019.

Challenging Run-in Ahead

Liverpool’s potential run-in could see them play three of the biggest games of the season in just seven days. After the Carabao Cup final, they host Wolves on the final day of the Premier League on May 19. They would then travel to Dublin for the Europa League final on May 22, before returning to Wembley for the FA Cup final on May 25.

Potential Club Record for Most Matches Played

The Reds have reached the 63-game mark in a season on three occasions since the Premier League was reduced to 20 teams in 1995, most recently in the 2021/22 campaign when they won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. If they progress to all available finals this season, they could set a new club record for the most matches played in a single campaign.

“Football fans will be eagerly anticipating Liverpool’s quest for an unprecedented Quadruple, which would cement their status as one of the greatest teams in the modern era.”
