In a surprising turn of events, French legend Emmanuel Petit has questioned the performances of Kylian Mbappe, the newly appointed captain of the French national team, during their campaign at Euro 2024.

“For me, Kylian Mbappe is probably the best player in the team, and the team is behind him. But as a leader, he hasn’t responded in the best way on the pitch,” Petit added.
The 25-year-old Mbappe, who is in the hunt for the Ballon d’Or at the end of the year, has often shone for France at international tournaments, scoring 12 goals in 14 appearances at the World Cup. However, his performances at Euro 2024 so far have been lackluster, with Petit expecting much more from the forward.
