Football News: Fabian Hurzeler Reveals Jurgen Klopp’s Advice Ahead of Premier League Debut

In a surprising move, Brighton have appointed Fabian Hurzeler as their new manager, making him the youngest ever in the Premier League. The 31-year-old German revealed that he received crucial advice from Liverpool legend Jurgen Klopp during a lengthy phone call as he prepares for his new role.

Klopp, who led Liverpool to numerous trophies including a Premier League and Champions League title, departed Anfield at the end of last season. His replacement, Arne Slot, has taken over the reins at the Reds.

Hurzeler, who previously worked with St Pauli, said that Klopp provided him with “very, very important advice” regarding the differences between football in Germany and England, as well as the culture and media landscape.

“One of them was Jurgen Klopp and he gave me very, very important advice. He was one of the most successful coaches in the Premier League. I asked him for the differences between the football in Germany and the football in England, about the culture, about the people, the media. All of the areas that are important for the coaches, so. He was very, very helpful,” Hurzeler told talkSPORT.

The new Brighton boss also revealed that he had reached out to other Premier League coaches to seek their wisdom, as he prepares to take on the challenge of managing in the top flight of English football.

Hurzeler’s appointment comes after a busy summer of changes at the AMEX Stadium, with Roberto De Zerbi departing the club on the final day of the previous season. The 31-year-old is now set to become the youngest manager in Premier League history, with the likes of Brighton captain Lewis Dunk older than him.

Despite the age gap, Hurzeler is confident in his approach, stating that he will use the “power of ideas to convince” his players and make them feel valued, with the ultimate goal of improving each individual.

The former Bayern Munich youth player believes that Brighton is the perfect fit for him, citing the club’s “amazing” atmosphere and facilities as key factors in his decision to leave St Pauli and embark on this new challenge in the Premier League.
