Football News: Rising Stars Shine in Women’s Super League
The race for the prestigious PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year award is on, with six promising young England talents shortlisted for the accolade. This year’s nominees, all of whom shone in the 2023-24 Women’s Super League season, are a testament to the positive state of women’s football in the country.
Leading the pack is Chelsea’s Lauren James, who could become the second footballer to retain the award after her England teammate Lauren Hemp. James is joined on the shortlist by her Chelsea colleague Aggie Beever-Jones, who enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Blues.
The remaining nominees hail from Manchester, with Manchester City’s Khiara Keating and Jess Park both in contention, as well as Manchester United’s Maya Le Tissier and Grace Clinton, the latter of whom impressed during a loan spell with Tottenham.
