Football News Update: Stockport County Bolsters Goalkeeping Department with Corey Addai Signing

In a significant move for their upcoming season, Stockport County have announced the signing of Corey Addai, the former Crawley Town goalkeeper, on a three-year deal. The undisclosed fee transfer sees the 26-year-old Jamaica-born keeper join the Hatters from their League One rivals.

Addai, who started his career in the Arsenal youth academy, has had an impressive trajectory, including spells on loan at various clubs and a season with Danish side Esbjerg. Last season, he firmly established himself as Crawley’s first-choice goalkeeper, making 45 appearances across all competitions and registering an impressive 179 saves, the most by any keeper in League Two.

“We feel with Corey’s arrival we have taken a big step forward in strengthening the goalkeeping department for the long term.” – Simon Wilson, Stockport’s Director of Football

At 6ft 8in, Addai’s unique physical profile is expected to provide a formidable presence in the Hatters’ goal. The move to Stockport will see Addai compete for the starting spot with Ben Hinchliffe, the club’s Player of the Season. Additionally, the Hatters have also signed 20-year-old goalkeeper Max Metcalfe as a “development keeper,” further bolstering their options between the sticks.

As the new season approaches, Stockport County fans will be eager to see how Corey Addai and the rest of the squad perform in the upcoming:
