FA Cup Semi-Finals

In the highly anticipated FA Cup semi-finals, holders Manchester City have been drawn against Chelsea, while Manchester United will face off against Championship side Coventry. The games are set to take place on the weekend of April 20/21 at Wembley Stadium.

Manchester United booked their place in the last four after an epic 4-3 win over Liverpool in extra-time. Their semi-final opponents Coventry will be led by manager Mark Robins, who is famous for scoring an FA Cup winner at Nottingham Forest that was widely believed to have saved Sir Alex Ferguson from the sack.

The other semi-final clash will see Chelsea take on Manchester City, a repeat of the 2021 Champions League final. Both teams’ league meetings this season have ended in draws, including a thrilling eight-goal classic at Stamford Bridge in November.

Upcoming Fixtures and Competitions

The draw raises the prospect of another all-Manchester final, after City triumphed over their rivals last season at Wembley en route to winning the treble. Pep Guardiola’s side are still in contention for an unprecedented double treble, with a daunting run of fixtures ahead, including matches against Arsenal, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Real Madrid, and Chelsea in the FA Cup.

Manchester United also have a challenging schedule, with games against Brentford, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Bournemouth in the Premier League, as well as the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry.

Elsewhere, the race for the Euro 2024 qualification is heating up, the Champions League quarter-finals are set to take place, and the FIFA World Cup and Women’s World Cup are on the horizon. In Africa, the standings for the Africa Cup of Nations are closely contested, while the Premier League, EFL Cup, EFL Championship, EFL One, EFL Two, and FA Cup continue to provide thrilling football action.
