The 2024/25 Scottish Premiership season is set to kick off with an unprecedented four games live on Sky Sports, marking a new era for the home of Scottish football.

As per the announcement, Sky Sports will be broadcasting up to 60 Premiership games this season, ensuring football enthusiasts have access to a wealth of live action. The opening weekend promises a feast of thrilling encounters.

The season will commence on Saturday, August 3, with Hearts hosting Rangers in the lunchtime fixture, followed by the champions Celtic’s title defense at home against Kilmarnock on Sunday afternoon. The opening weekend will also feature a highly anticipated Dundee derby as Dundee United mark their return to the top-flight, taking on rivals Dundee in a game live on Sky Sports.

Elsewhere, the new era at Aberdeen under the management of Jimmy Thelin will get underway on Monday, August 5, as they visit St Johnstone in the final match of the opening weekend. The season promises to be another captivating tussle between the Glasgow giants, with the first Old Firm clash scheduled for Saturday, August 31, at Celtic Park.
