Jadon Sancho sends heartfelt message to Bukayo Saka after England’s Euro 2024 quarter-final win
Jadon Sancho has sent a heartfelt message to his England teammate Bukayo Saka after the Arsenal star’s Player of the Match performance against Switzerland in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals.
Saka scored a brilliant equalizer for the Three Lions and then converted his penalty in the shootout, helping Gareth Southgate’s side reach the semi-finals. They will now face the Netherlands, with the winner of that tie set to take on either Spain or France in the European Championship final.
“I’m so proud of this guy!” Sancho posted on Instagram, along with a picture of Saka holding the Player of the Match trophy. “You did it for me and Marcus, brother.”
Southgate was full of praise for Saka, calling him a “special boy” and commending his courage in stepping up to take the penalty. Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand also celebrated England’s penalty heroes, taking a dig at the “racists” who had previously targeted Saka, Sancho, and Marcus Rashford.
