West Ham United and Manchester United in Advanced Talks Over Aaron Wan-Bissaka Transfer

According to reports, West Ham United and Manchester United are in “advanced” negotiations over a deal to send right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to the London club.

Wan-Bissaka, the former Crystal Palace defender, is expected to leave Manchester United this summer as Erik ten Hag pursues Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui. The transfer fee for Wan-Bissaka is anticipated to be under £20 million, which is £30 million less than what the Red Devils paid for him.

“The deal will be completed ‘very soon,’ with a medical planned for the next few days and a verbal agreement already in place between West Ham and Wan-Bissaka.”

The 25-year-old is a top target for new Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui, and a transfer is close to being finalized. German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg has confirmed the details.

This potential move comes as West Ham have been busy in the summer transfer window, securing the signings of Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham, Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug, Guido Rodriguez, and Jean-Clair Todibo, the latter of whom was confirmed on Saturday.

The Hammers’ capture of Todibo, on loan with an obligation to buy, is particularly noteworthy, as they beat out Manchester United for the French centre-back’s signature. The ownership situation involving Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who owns both Nice and Manchester United, left the Red Devils unable to secure the transfer.

West Ham’s ambitious summer transfer activity underscores their determination to build a strong squad capable of competing in the Premier League, EFL Cup, FA Cup, and potentially the UEFA Europa League or UEFA Champions League, depending on their final league position.

As the new Premier League season approaches, the potential arrival of Wan-Bissaka would further bolster West Ham’s defensive options and provide a boost to their aspirations for the 2023/24 campaign.
