Blackpool Football Club Secures Midfielder Lee Evans on a Two-Year Deal
Blackpool, a prominent force in the English Football League (EFL), have bolstered their midfield with the signing of Lee Evans on a two-year contract. The 29-year-old Evans joins the Seasiders after his contract with Portsmouth expired in March earlier this year.
Evans, a seasoned professional, has an impressive track record of success, having achieved four promotions out of League One with previous clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, and Ipswich Town. His wealth of experience and proven ability will undoubtedly strengthen Blackpool’s push for promotion in the upcoming EFL Championship season.
“It’s a really nice feeling, I’m delighted to be here and become a Blackpool player,” Evans expressed upon joining the club. “It’s an exciting challenge, and speaking to Neil Critchley [the Seasiders’ head coach], he sold that challenge to me of trying to get out of this league. With the club just missing out on the play-off’s last season, it’s had a chance to build and then kick on again this coming season, which I am proud to be a part of.”
Blackpool, who narrowly missed out on a spot in the EFL Championship play-offs last season, will be aiming to mount a strong challenge for promotion in the 2023-24 campaign. The addition of Evans, with his wealth of experience and proven ability to achieve success, will undoubtedly bolster the Seasiders’ hopes of securing a return to the second tier of English football.
