Croatia and Albania Aim to Revive Euro 2024 Campaigns
As the Euro 2024 tournament progresses, Croatia and Albania will be eager to bounce back from their opening-match disappointments when they face off on Wednesday, June 19, at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg.
Croatia, led by veteran captain Luka Modric, suffered a 3-0 defeat to Spain in their Group B opener, leaving them without a point. Meanwhile, Albania were edged 2-1 by Italy despite taking an early lead, also leaving them pointless in the group.
With both teams in need of a crucial victory to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout phase alive, the match promises to be a tightly contested affair. Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic has acknowledged the need for improvement, stating, “We will certainly try to see something different in this Albania [game]. We know that the next game means a lot to us. Basically, we have to beat them.”
Albania, meanwhile, will be buoyed by the impressive performance against Italy, where Nedim Bajrami scored the fastest-ever European Championship goal. However, they will face a formidable Croatia side determined to bounce back from their opening-game disappointment.

The clash between the two nations, who have never met before in a major tournament, will be broadcast live on talkSPORT 2 with commentary from Nigel Adderley and Scott Minto. Fans can also catch the action on ITV One.
As the race for qualification heats up, both Croatia and Albania will be desperate to secure all three points and revive their Euro 2024 campaigns.
