Football News Update: Crewe Alexandra Sign Experienced Striker Kane Hemmings
In a move that strengthens their attacking options, Crewe Alexandra have secured the signing of seasoned striker Kane Hemmings on a 12-month contract, with an additional year’s option.
Hemmings, 32, had been in negotiations with his previous club Stevenage about a new deal, but has ultimately chosen to join the Railwaymen as a free agent. Last season, the experienced forward netted seven goals in 40 appearances for Boro.
This marks Crewe’s first summer signing, coming on the heels of last month’s departure of Elliott Nevitt to Gillingham. Hemmings’ career has seen him feature for a range of clubs, including Rangers, Cowdenbeath, Barnsley, Dundee, Oxford United, Notts County, Burton Albion, and Tranmere.
“With his wealth of experience and goal-scoring prowess, Hemmings’ arrival will be a welcome boost for Crewe Alexandra as they gear up for the upcoming season, which includes key fixtures in the EFL Championship, EFL Cup, and FA Cup.”
