Football News: Joshua Zirkzee, Manchester United’s Potential Signing, Faced Kompany’s Wrath in Anderlecht Dressing Room

Manchester United are reportedly close to signing Joshua Zirkzee, the Dutch striker currently playing for Bologna. However, the 21-year-old once experienced the full force of an angry Vincent Kompany during his loan spell at Kompany’s former club, Anderlecht, in the 2021/22 season.

Zirkzee enjoyed a successful campaign with Anderlecht, scoring 18 goals and providing 13 assists as the team finished third in the Belgian Pro League. But despite being one of the club’s star players, the young forward faced a passionate dressing down from the Manchester City legend following a late equalizer conceded against Sint-Truiden in October 2021.

“Listen. No misunderstanding. There’s one fing side to me that you haven’t fing seen boys.”

Kompany, who has since taken charge of Bayern Munich, was not pleased with his team’s performance and singled out Zirkzee’s attitude, saying, “Listen. No misunderstanding. There’s one fing side to me that you haven’t fing seen boys.” The manager went on to criticize the entire team, stating that he could have taken everyone off without anyone complaining.

This experience, while challenging at the time, could prove valuable for Zirkzee as he prepares to potentially join Manchester United. The Red Devils are said to be close to securing the striker, who holds a £34 million release clause in his Bologna contract.

As the football world shifts its focus to upcoming competitions, such as Euro 2024, the Champions League, the FIFA World Cup, and the Women’s World Cup, the signing of Zirkzee could be a significant move for Manchester United as they aim to strengthen their squad and compete at the highest level.
