Football News Update: Grimsby Town Bolsters Defense with Signing of Derry City’s Cameron McJannet
In a move to strengthen their defensive lineup, Grimsby Town have signed Derry City defender Cameron McJannet on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 25-year-old Englishman, who previously played for Stoke City, joins the Mariners as their fourth summer signing.
“I’m absolutely buzzing, when I first heard about it, I was excited by the possibility,” McJannet told the club website. “The gaffer likes the look of what I can do on the pitch, defending and being good on the ball, and I’m hoping I can bring that to the table.”
The defender made 142 appearances for the Candy Stripes since joining the club in 2020. He will now look to make an impact at Grimsby Town, where he will link up with new additions Matty Carson, Jordan Wright, and Tyrell Warren.
As the football world gears up for exciting events, including the Euro 2024, Champions League, FIFA World Cup, Women’s World Cup, Africa Cup of Nations, Premier League, EFL Cup, EFL Championship, EFL One, EFL Two, and FA Cup, Grimsby Town’s acquisition of Cameron McJannet is a testament to their ambition to strengthen their squad and compete at the highest level.
