West Ham Keen on Reunion with Sevilla’s En-Nesyri

According to talkSPORT, West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui is eager to reunite with Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri at the London Stadium. The Hammers have long been admirers of the 27-year-old Moroccan international and have made several attempts in recent transfer windows to pry him away from Spain, but to no avail.

However, the situation could change this summer, as En-Nesyri has just one year remaining on his contract at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, making him an attractive prospect for West Ham. Lopetegui, who managed En-Nesyri during his time at Sevilla from 2019 to 2022, is believed to be willing to bring the striker to the Premier League.

En-Nesyri’s arrival could be West Ham’s second signing of the summer, following the capture of 18-year-old Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras. Bringing in a new center-forward is a top priority for Lopetegui, as he looks to provide genuine competition for Michail Antonio up front.

The Moroccan striker has proven himself in Spain, scoring 73 goals in 196 appearances across all competitions. Last season, he found the back of the net 16 times in 33 La Liga outings, making him one of the most prolific strikers in the league.

Arsenal had previously expressed interest in En-Nesyri back in 2018/19 when he was playing for Leganes, but he ultimately remained in Spain, joining Sevilla in the 2020 winter transfer window. The Gunners were also linked with the player as a potential replacement for Alexandre Lacazette in 2022, but Mikel Arteta opted for Gabriel Jesus instead.

Now, it seems En-Nesyri could finally be heading to England, as West Ham look to strengthen their squad in their bid to return to European competition.
