Football News Update: Man Utd Owners Pledge Carrington Training Ground Overhaul
In a significant development for Manchester United, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has confirmed that work will commence to modernize the club’s Carrington training ground. This announcement comes after Ratcliffe and INEOS completed a deal to acquire a 27.7% stake in the Premier League giants earlier this year.

The renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners, led by Manchester-born Lord Norman Foster, has been appointed to oversee the renovation.
Ratcliffe expressed his desire to “create a world-class environment” for Manchester United’s teams to thrive. He acknowledged the need to bring the training ground up to the standards of their peers, stating that this project will ensure Carrington is “once more renovated to the highest standards.”
The initial focus of the refurbishment will be on the gym, medical, nutrition, and recovery areas, with an emphasis on enhancing collaboration and innovation. Temporary adaptations will be made to the rest of the Carrington site to ensure the smooth operation of all teams during the 2024/25 season.
This latest phase of development at Carrington follows the £10 million investment in a state-of-the-art women’s and Academy building last summer, showcasing the club’s commitment to its entire football department.
