Football News Update: MK Dons Sign Defender Sam Sherring
In the latest transfer news, MK Dons have secured the signing of defender Sam Sherring after he turned down a new contract offer from Northampton Town. The 24-year-old centre-back made a total of 77 appearances for the Cobblers over the past two seasons, with 40 of those coming in League One last term, following his role in Northampton’s promotion campaign the year prior.
Sherring has now joined MK Dons, becoming their fifth new signing since the team’s 8-1 aggregate defeat against Crawley in the League Two play-offs. Commenting on his decision to move to the club, the defender stated:
“The plan and the vision for the club, as well as the facilities and everything here, made it a no-brainer decision for me.”
This acquisition will bolster MK Dons’ defensive options as they prepare for the upcoming season, which will include their participation in the EFL Cup and the FA Cup, in addition to their league campaign in EFL League One.
Fans of Football News will be keen to follow Sherring’s progress with his new club and see how he can contribute to MK Dons’ ambitions for the 2023-24 season.
