Football News Update: Swindon Town Secure Nnamdi Ofoborh on One-Year Contract Extension
In a significant move for the League Two club, Swindon Town has announced that midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh has agreed to a new one-year contract. The 24-year-old Nigeria Under-20 international, who previously played for Bournemouth and Wycombe Wanderers, joined Swindon Town as a free agent in March and made a notable impact, featuring in all seven remaining games of the 2022-23 season.
Swindon’s new boss, Mark Kennedy, expressed his enthusiasm for Ofoborh’s contributions, stating, >”I’ve watched his games back from last season. He brings not only a physical presence to the team but technical quality too.”
Ofoborh shared his optimism for the upcoming 2024-25 campaign, saying, >”Next season is going to be all about a new book, a new chapter. With new faces joining us at the club alongside the new manager, we can use this to push us in the right direction next season.”
In addition to Ofoborh’s contract extension, the club also announced that 18-year-old defender Joel McGregor has signed his first professional deal with Swindon Town. McGregor has already made six first-team appearances since making his debut in November.
As Swindon Town looks to capitalize on its recent additions and the leadership of their new manager, the club’s supporters will eagerly await the team’s performance in the upcoming EFL League Two season, hoping to see the Robins climb the table and potentially challenge for promotion to the EFL Championship.
