Manchester United Eyeing Fulham’s Palhinha to Replace Casemiro

In a move that could shake up the Premier League landscape, Paul Ince has encouraged Manchester United to “hijack” Bayern Munich in the race to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham.

Palhinha was one of the standout signings of the 2022 summer transfer window, as Fulham paid around £20 million to secure the Portugal international’s services from Sporting Lisbon. The 28-year-old defensive midfielder’s impressive form throughout the 2023/24 season, in which Fulham comfortably avoided relegation, has not gone unnoticed.

“Joao Palhinha could replace Casemiro next season, without a doubt,” Ince said. “He’s got everything you need to be a success at Manchester United, and I hope they hijack a move.”

However, Ince acknowledges the challenge of finding the right teammates to complement Palhinha’s skillset, emphasizing the importance of aligning the squad’s objectives for the upcoming season.

With Bayern, Manchester United, and Barcelona all vying for Palhinha’s signature, the battle for the Portugal international’s services is set to be fiercely contested. As the summer transfer window approaches, football enthusiasts will eagerly await the outcome of this high-profile tug-of-war.
