In a significant move, Aston Villa have completed the double signing of Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus for a combined fee of 22 million euros (£18.6 million).

The Italian club has revealed that English forward Iling-Junior, 20, has joined Villa for a fee of 14 million euros (£11.8 million), with an additional 3 million euros (£2.5 million) in potential add-ons. Meanwhile, Argentine midfielder Barrenechea, 23, has been acquired for 8 million euros (£6.7 million), plus 3 million euros in add-ons.

“This transfer activity follows the recent move of Douglas Luiz from Villa to Juventus, with the 26-year-old Brazilian signing a five-year deal worth £42.35 million.”

Iling-Junior, a product of Chelsea’s academy, joined Juventus’ youth team and made his senior debut for the Turin club in May 2022. He has scored two goals in 45 appearances for Juventus and has also represented the England Under-21 side.

Barrenechea, on the other hand, spent a season on loan at fellow Serie A side Frosinone during his two-year stint with Juventus.

In other Villa news, the club has completed the signing of Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen for £35 million, and they have also secured the services of striker Lewis Dobbin from Everton.
