There is plenty happening at Deepdale as the 2024-25 football season nears. Preston North End, who finished 10th in the Championship last season, are looking to assemble a squad capable of challenging for a play-off spot.

The club have yet to make any signings since the transfer window opened last month, but they are reportedly interested in a few players who could bolster their midfield options.

One player on their radar is Jack Cork, the 35-year-old midfielder who recently left Burnley after two spells at the club. Reports suggest Preston are keen to keep the experienced player in Lancashire.

Another midfielder the Lilywhites are said to have approached is Adam Phillips from Barnsley. The 26-year-old, who is a boyhood Preston fan, has been impressive for the League One side, scoring 22 goals and providing 15 assists in 91 appearances.

“As the new season draws closer, all eyes will be on the business Preston North End can do in the transfer market to bolster their squad and mount a stronger challenge in the Championship.”

Meanwhile, the club has confirmed the departure of academy graduate Lewis Leigh. The 20-year-old midfielder has joined Bromley, who are newcomers to EFL League Two, with Preston receiving compensation and a sell-on clause.
