Football News Update: Milton Keynes Dons Strengthen Midfield with Liam Kelly Signing
In the latest football transfer news, Milton Keynes Dons have bolstered their squad by signing midfielder Liam Kelly from Crawley Town. The 28-year-old player, who has previous experience with clubs like Reading, Bath City, Feyenoord, Oxford United, and Rochdale, has joined the Dons for an undisclosed fee.
Kelly, who helped Crawley Town secure promotion to League One last season, expressed his excitement about the move, stating, “> I had an unbelievable season, not just me personally but as a team to get promotion. Hopefully, I can use that experience.”
The midfielder further added, “> The project that’s building is clear to see from the outside even when playing against MK Dons last season.”
This signing marks the seventh summer acquisition for Milton Keynes Dons, as they continue to strengthen their squad. Manager Mike Wiliamson has previously brought in defenders Luke Offord from Crewe, Laurence Maguire from Chesterfield, and Sam Sherring from Northampton Town, as well as midfielders Connor Lemonheigh-Evans from Stockport County and Tommy Leigh and Joe Pritchard from Accrington Stanley.
With the addition of Liam Kelly, the Dons will be looking to build on their performances in the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers, Champions League, FIFA World Cup, and Women’s World Cup campaigns, as well as the Africa Cup of Nations, Premier League, EFL Cup, EFL Championship, EFL One, EFL Two, and FA Cup competitions.
