Football News: Manchester United Face Tough Start to Premier League Season
Manchester United will kick off the new Premier League season on a Friday night, with Erik ten Hag’s side set to take on Fulham in the opening game. However, the Red Devils face a challenging start to the campaign, with clashes against Liverpool and Tottenham in their first six matches.
Tough Opening Fixtures
It will be the eighth consecutive season that Manchester United have been handed a home game to start the Premier League season, the most in the league’s history. After finishing a disappointing eighth position last term, their lowest ever finish in the Premier League, Ten Hag will be keen to get off to a fast start and repay the faith shown in him.
The Old Trafford outfit boast the best winning record of any Premier League side in their opening matches, winning 21 of their 32 games. However, Ten Hag may still be haunted by his first match in charge, which saw Brighton emerge as 2-1 winners at the Theatre of Dreams in August 2022.
