Rangers made a winning start to their temporary residency at Hampden Park, defeating Motherwell 2-1 in the Scottish Premiership. Cyriel Dessers, who had scored a late equalizer against Champions League qualifying opponents Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday, opened the scoring for Rangers after 13 minutes. However, Motherwell quickly leveled the match with an own goal from Rangers’ debutant defender Robin Pröpper.
Vaclav Cerny, making his first start since joining Rangers from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg, then netted a stylish goal midway through the first half, which proved to be the decisive strike.
