Football News Spotlight: Veteran Midfielder Extends Stay at Mansfield Town
Mansfield Town, the dynamic EFL League Two side, has secured the services of experienced midfielder Stephen Quinn for another season. The 38-year-old former Sheffield United player has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal, keeping him at the club beyond his 39th birthday.
Quinn, who initially joined the Stags on loan from Burton Albion in January 2021, has made a significant impact during his time at the club. The ex-Republic of Ireland international has featured in an impressive 144 appearances across all competitions for Mansfield Town.
Last season, Quinn demonstrated his continued excellence on the pitch, contributing four goals in 34 games. His crucial second goal helped the Stags secure promotion with a victory against Accrington Stanley in April.
“The seasoned midfielder is the latest in a series of key players to recommit to the club in recent weeks. Alongside Quinn, left-back Stephen McLaughlin, midfielder George Maris, and strikers Lucas Akins and Rhys Oates have all extended their stays at the One Call Stadium.”
Mansfield Town’s supporters will be delighted to see the experienced Quinn extending his tenure with the club, as they look to build on their successful promotion campaign and make an impact in the upcoming EFL League One season.
