Football News Update: Grimsby Bolsters Defensive Line with Signing of Experienced Defender Lewis Cass

In a move to fortify their defensive unit, Grimsby Town have announced the signing of 24-year-old defender Lewis Cass on a two-year contract. Cass joins the club following the expiration of his contract with Port Vale.

During his time at Port Vale, Cass made a total of 71 appearances, including two loan spells with the club. The defender capped off the 2023-24 season with a loan stint at League Two champions Stockport County, where he found the back of the net once in nine league matches.

“I’ve been involved in a couple of promotions recently and we’ve got a good squad here, and hopefully everyone can push each other.”

With Cass’ experience and recent success in the lower divisions, Grimsbury fans will be hoping he can make an immediate impact in the Premier League, EFL Cup, EFL Championship, EFL One, EFL Two, and FA Cup competitions.
