In a significant move for the upcoming football season, Milton Keynes Dons have secured the signing of centre-back Laurence Maguire from Chesterfield on an undisclosed-length contract. The 27-year-old, who is the younger brother of England defender Harry Maguire, arrives in Buckinghamshire after a successful loan spell with Crawley Town, where he helped the team earn promotion to League One by defeating MK Dons 8-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals.
Maguire joins the Dons on a free transfer, becoming the club’s third summer signing after the arrivals of Connor Lemonheigh-Evans and Luke Offord. This move comes as Chesterfield, Maguire’s former club, also secured promotion to League Two without him, winning the National League.
