Football News Update: Sky Sports to Broadcast Over 1,000 EFL Matches Next Season

In a groundbreaking move for football fans, Sky Sports has announced that it will be showcasing over 1,000 EFL (English Football League) matches during the upcoming 2024/25 season. This unprecedented coverage will provide dedicated supporters with unparalleled access to their favorite teams across the Championship, League One, and League Two divisions.

Extensive EFL Coverage

“Every single League One and League Two team will be featured live on Sky Sports at least 20 times next season. Additionally, all 24 Championship clubs will be broadcast live on Sky a minimum of 24 times.”

To facilitate this extensive coverage, Sky Sports will be launching a brand-new platform, Sky Sports+, in August. This innovative service will be integrated seamlessly into the existing Sky TV, streaming, and mobile experiences, giving subscribers access to over 50% more live sports content at no extra cost.

The revamped Sky Sports app will also become the ultimate destination for sports streaming, with Sky Sports+ streams readily available. Non-Sky subscribers can also enjoy instant, contract-free access to all Sky Sports channels through the NOW Sports Day or Month Membership, which will include the Sky Sports+ offerings.

Historic First in Broadcasting

The scale of Sky Sports+ will be immediately evident from the opening weekend of the 2024/25 season, as every single game across the Championship, League One, and League Two divisions will be streamed live โ€“ a historic first in broadcasting.

Furthermore, fans can look forward to live coverage of all Carabao Cup and Bristol Street Motors Trophy matches, as well as every EFL fixture played during international breaks. While some matches may be rescheduled for broadcast purposes, the majority of fixtures will remain unchanged.

The ‘3pm blackout‘ period on Saturday afternoons will also remain in place, ensuring that the main broadcast fixtures are scheduled outside of this time slot.

This unprecedented level of EFL coverage on Sky Sports is set to revolutionize the way football fans consume and engage with their beloved teams, providing unrivaled access and flexibility to follow the action throughout the season.
